Ousland - 1994 First unsupported to the Pole Norwegian Børge Ousland did the first ever unsupported trek to the North Pole and he did it alone perhaps the biggest feats in polar history. Børge started from Arktichevski in Russia and reached the pole after 52 days. Canadian Weber and Russian
Malakhov were the first to make it unsupported from Canada. The two didn't settle with that once at the pole the made a 180 and skied all the way back to Ward Hunt Island a total distance of 1500 km.

Zemlya in Russia, 109 days and 2100 km later the made landfall on Cape
Discovery, Canada.
