Ronny Finsaas and Fiona Lindsay – Novo-SP-Hercules Inlet POSTPONED
Ronny (Norway) and Fiona (UK) will kite ski over 2000 miles from Novolazerevskya on the Antarctic coast, via the South Pole, to Hercules Inlet on the Ronne Ice Shelf by the end of January 2010.

Cecilie Skog and Ryan Waters – Berkner Island
Cecilie (Norway) and Ryan (USA) will ski from the Berkner Island on the Weddell Sea to the South Pole (1300 km). Time permitting they will alternate their finish beyond the South Pole. The team is scheduled to fly to Antarctica on November 12 (weather permitting).

Antony Jinman – South Pole expedition POSTPONED
Briton Antony Jinman plans to ski three ice fields in one year. He has already skied across Greenland in May 2009 and in the 2009-10 Antarctic season he will attempt to ski from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole. Thereafter he will attempt the North Pole from land to pole.

The Moon-Regan Trans Antarctic Expedition - motorised
This expedition will endeavour to cross the continent of Antarctica from the west coast to the South Pole, retracing the steps of the famous Fuchs and Hillary TransAntarctic Expedition, then head north through the Trans-Antarctic Mountain Range to the coast at McMurdo. They will be covering a distance of around 3,000 miles in bio-fuelled Concept Ice Vehicle (CIV) with a support team and six wheeled support vehicle.

During November 2009 to January 2010, two Chilean kayakers and climbers, Cristian Donoso and Mario Sepúlveda, will attempt a self-sufficient kayak voyage and sledge-hauling and climbing expedition around and on the Antarctic Peninsula. The approximate distances will be, in kayak, 850 km, on land/snow 750 km; total, 1600 km. Estimated time 80-110 days.

Christoph Höbenreich, Paul Koller and Karl Pichler – Queen Maud Land
Christoph Höbenreich from Tyrol will be leading an Austrian expedition to explore some unknown mountain areas in Antarctica’s Queen (Dronning) Maud Land during a 4 week expedition in November 2009. Instead of looking out for difficult rock climbs big wall style the Austrian team will try to ski appr. 150 km across the ranges from west to east and climb mountains in alpine style or using skis.
Tarka L’Herpiniere and Katie-Jane Cooper – Southern Patagonia Icecap
On 26 August 2009 ‘The Rivers of Ice’ expedition with Tarka L’Herpiniere (France) and Katie-Jane Cooper (England) started a full crossing of the Southern Patagonia Icecap, unassisted and unsupported. They aim to complete their mission in 37 days.

Georg Sichelschmidt and Olaf Rieck– Southern Patagonia Icecap and Fiz Roy
In October 2009 the two Germans will attempt a 25-day Southern Patagonia ski and kite expedition starting at the Jorge Montt Glacier in Chile and leaving the Icecap over the Paso del Viento to the small settlement El Chalten in Argentina. Their goal is to go to Mount Fitz Roy at the Argentina/Chile border. Fitz Roy is 3,375 metre (11,073 ft) high and requires technical skills.
