Easter celebrations at Cambridge Bay

April 24, 2003 - Easter also saw Mike Horn make good progress on his Arktos Adventure. He arrived in Cambridge Bay on April 20 after only 15 days of walking from Gjoa Haven. Mike average about 30 km a day and the crossing felt great. At the end the sled pulling became more difficult due to warmer weather with lots of snowfall.

Sailing the Arctic

On the last stretch before reaching Cambridge Bay the winds changed and for once was blowing in the right direction. Mike quickly pulled out the kite and was able to use it to move forward a lot faster. He even considered taking advantage of the winds and sail past Cambridge Bay, but decided against it. Next planned stop is Paulatuk, west of Coppermine.
