North Pole Dominick: Final report from the Pilots
09:54 a.m. EST Apr 2, 2004
Following mail just arrived from Victor:

"I have just talked with the pilots (4 pm Moscow time).
They called me from the ice , where they found good ice for the Borneo station at 89.01 N and 124 E.

They have found no evidence of Dominick in the searched area.

They divided the area between 82 30 and 84 degrees North and between 96 .15 and 99.15 into 6 vertical zones 5 km width each and flew with two helicopters on parallel curses from South to North and then back.
On April 1 they had completed 4 out of 6 zones going from West. Today they completed the 2 last ones and then flew towards North.

They reported that they saw all the skiers and that Bettina and Jean Gabriell are on good ice with good conditions ahead of them. Ben and Wave still have leads of open water in front of them.
A map with the routes and pictures of GPS data for the certain points within the area of searching will be available after April 9, when the first flight to Borneo will return to LYR.

I am leaving for Borneo on April 4, but can be reached
till April 11 on my mobile phone.

Sorry for bringing these news, but they did all that was possible.
Regards
Victor
