So much left to explore, say's 37 year old
12:36 p.m. EDT Jul 16, 2003
Mike’s 37th birthday is greeted with heavy rain, snow and winds. Mike races to reach Bering Strait before the foul weather of ending summer slows him down.
A birthday in the Arctic wilderness inspires reflections:
"37 years old today! The years are going by quickly. At least I can say I have done a lot with my life. It's a satisfying thought. Even so, there remain quite a few more years ahead of me yet. I wonder what the future has in store. I enjoy thinking about it. The world is a big place and there is still so much to be explored."
Mike Horn departed August 2002 from North Cape on his epic Arktos mission. His goal is to circumnavigate the Polar Circle. During the trip his logistic team is meeting up with him to re-supply with medication, equipment and food. The expedition is expected to last 18 months.
